2027 Elections: ADC Isn’t Perfect, But APC Must Watch Its Steps– Sumner Sambo

Sumner Sambo, the director of news and politics editor at Arise Television, has stated that the opposition coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) should be a concern for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
On July 2, in advance of the national elections in 2027, the opposition alliance formally recognized the ADC as its political party.
Former Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola was appointed national secretary, while former Senate President David Mark was appointed national chairman.

Sambo stated during his appearance on Monday’s “The Morning Show” on Arise Television that the ruling APC would be laughing if it ignored the opposition coalition.

There is a great deal of disenchantment in the APC, he said.

According to him, “many Nigerians did not give them opportunities when the APC was in its early stages.” The APC has a high level of disillusionment. ADC has its own problems; members of the ruling party should use extreme caution.

The ADC, meantime, has declared that it will not only participate in the general election in 2027 but also be a formidable challenger.

In an interview with Vanguard on Sunday, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC’s national publicity secretary, stated that the controversial zoning issue was not the center of attention.

Abdullahi claims that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has had difficulty providing reasonable substitutes for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He stated that the ADC is committed to creating a robust, grassroots political organization throughout Nigeria and that, instead of depending on regional power-sharing agreements, it plans to transform the political system of the nation by advancing values, workable solutions, and people-centered governance.

The ADC’s strategy for the 2027 election, he said, would put talent and the good of the country ahead of conventional zoning.
