32-Year-Old Rapper Stabbed During Prison Incident

After being stabbed at the California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi, depressed Canadian musician Tory Lanez, 32, was taken to the hospital.
After a violent argument at the prison on Monday, May 12, 2025, it was discovered that another inmate had stabbed Lanez.
According to reports, the stabbing is not life-threatening while the attack’s motive is being looked into.
After Megan Thee Stallion was shot in 2020, the rapper who was taken to the hospital in an ambulance is presently serving a 10-year prison sentence, according to TMZ.
According to Megan Thee Stallion’s testimony, before firing, Lanez instructed her to dance.
According to ID Cabasa, a seasoned Nigerian record producer and music executive, Senegalese-American singer and executive Akon’s assertions that he helped create the Afrobeats genre are based on the impressions he received from those around him.
According to reports, Akon recently stated in an interview that the early days of Afrobeats were shaped by his relationships and collaborations with Nigerian musicians and music executives during the late 2000s and the 2010s.
In contrast, ID Cabasa claimed in an interview with Wazobia FM that Akon has no claim to the origins of Afrobeats.
Although he acknowledged that Akon worked and partnered with a few Nigerian musicians and music executives between the late 2000s and the 2010s, when Afrobeats had not yet become widely accepted in the West, this does not support his claim to be the genre’s creator.

Long before Akon traveled to Nigeria to work with Wizkid, P-Square, and other Afrobeat singers, he noted, performers like Timaya, 9ice, and 2Face had already achieved fame.
The record producer also refuted Akon’s assertion that Wizkid was merely a local musician prior to being signed to and developed by his label in 2008. He added that Banky W had recognized Wizkid’s potential and signed him to his label, Empire Mates Entertainment, which subsequently collaborated with Akon’s label.
