NDA Announces Shooting Drill in Kaduna, Cautions Residents

Residents of Afaka, Kauya, and Mando in Kaduna State have received a notification from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) warning them to stay away from the open range during a planned shooting practice.
The drill is set to take place between February 26 and March 1, according to a statement issued in Kaduna on Tuesday by Maj. Muhammad Maidawa, the academy’s public relations officer.
According to Maidawa, this event is a component of the 72 Regular Course Army Cadets’ advanced use of the fire package.

It was understood that the drill will involve live gunfire, which is essential to the cadets’ training and growth.
Maidawa emphasized the need of safety precautions, pointing out that restricted zones will be marked with warning signs and fences surrounding the range areas.

Residents are asked to heed these warnings and avoid the area for the duration of the exercise, especially farmers, walkers, and cattle rearers.

The NDA has called for cooperation and collaboration from the local community members and has guaranteed that everyone’s safety and well-being are of utmost importance.

“The residents can help ensure their safety and the effective training of military personnel by avoiding the designated area,” Maidawa stated.

According to him, the warning was issued as a necessary measure to guarantee the success of the training exercise and to avoid any possible injury to civilians.
