The Office of Senator Ahmad Lawan, the President of the 9th Senate and a distinguished senator from Yobe North, has taken notice of false posters and rumors that have been going around implying that he is about to switch from the APC to the SDP.

We want to make it clear that these reports are completely untrue, unfounded, and unworthy. Since its founding, Senator Ahmad Lawan has proudly supported and been affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC), a party he continues to be a staunch and devoted member of. He is still an important member of the APC and will keep collaborating with the government and the party to make sure their shared objectives are met,” the statement said.

Lawan also took use of the occasion to remind the people of his lengthy history of political consistency, pointing out that in his 25 years in politics, he has never switched parties.

For the record, Senator Ahmad Lawan is among the few Nigerian legislators who has never defected during his remarkable 25-year tenure in the National Assembly. On the platform of the All People’s Party (APP), which was subsequently renamed the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP), he was elected to the House of Representatives in 1999 and then moved on to the Senate in 2007. On February 6, 2013, the APC was formed by the merger of three minority parties, including the ANPP,” the statement continued.

Lawan also reaffirmed his support for Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni and President Bola Tinubu’s administration, calling their leadership transformative and progressive.

He declared, “Senator Lawan is a strong supporter of the APC’s vision and values, and he keeps working tirelessly with other party leaders and members to fortify the party and further its agenda for the betterment of our country.”

He also declares his unwavering support for the changes and programs of the administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He thinks that the administration is dedicated to changing Nigeria and solving its problems.
