Police Nab Female Gunrunner Supplying Arms and Drugs to Bandits

Recent joint tactical team operations resulted in the arrest of money counterfeiters, drug traffickers, and arms smugglers, according to the Nigeria Police Force.
Olumuwiya Adejobi, the Police Public Relations Officer, reportedly said this in a statement on Tuesday.
Haruna Sani, who reportedly provides weapons to bandits, was taken into custody by members of the Force Intelligence Department-Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS), according to a police spokesperson.

In February, Usman Yahaya, Joseph Matthew, and Solomon Bala were arrested by the team in another operation for allegedly trafficking hard drugs, including codeine syrups, in Postiskum.

It stated: “On December 23, 2024, at around 5:50 PM, 30-year-old Doro village resident Hauwa Sani was apprehended by FID-STS agents near the Keffi/Abuja Expressway. Inside a 5-liter bottle of palm oil, she was discovered to be in possession of 124 rounds of live ammunition of different calibers. She acknowledged that she was assigned to transport the ammunition to Katsina State by a Nasiru from Daura. Multiple arrests and recoveries that are being profiled are the result of additional investigations. It is advised that citizens exercise caution and stay aware of these smugglers’ antics. Reporting suspicious things to the proper authorities should happen right away.

In a separate operation on February 1st, 2025, FID-STS agents, acting on reliable information, apprehended citizens of Postiskum, Yobe State, Solomon Bala, age 25, Joseph Matthew, age 27, and Alhaji Usman Yahaya, age 50. Thirty cartons of codeine syrups and other hard drugs were being transported around Postiskum when the suspects were caught. They admitted that the drugs were meant to be supplied to kidnappers, bandits, and Boko Haram rebels who were ravaging Yobe State and its neighboring countries.

Additionally, FID-STS agents captured Yusuf Dantani, age 24, Usman Labaran, age 32, and Musa Mohammed, age 23, with ten AK-47 weapons on February 3rd, 2025. When questioned, the suspects admitted to participating in multiple arms trades and admitted to getting N3,980,000 for the final shipment of weapons they were expected to exchange.

Adejobi declared that the force was unwavering in its resolve to take down illegal businesses and prosecute those responsible.

In order to help with crime prevention and detection, he asked the people to continue supporting police operations by giving them correct and timely information.
