Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and every member of the Rivers State House of Assembly are suspended for six months under the emergency rule, which Tinubu declared on Tuesday. In light of the state’s ongoing political turmoil, the president defended the action as a necessary step to restore order.
Tinubu designated retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas as the Administrator to lead the state during this time as part of the emergency procedures.
