2027: ‘We Are Confident’ – Akpabio Declares Ganduje, Barau, Lado as Tinubu’s Key Allies in Kano

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is expected to effectively retake Kano State in the general elections of 2027, according to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
According to what was understood, Akpabio said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would win if key party leaders led the effort, including Senator Basheer Lado, Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy Senate President, and Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the APC.
“We are confident that with Senator Barau, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and your strategic self, Kano is already in the kitty of APC,” Akpabio said in a statement on Thursday, underscoring the party’s strong position for the next elections.
During Senator Lado’s tenure as President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Senate affairs, Akpabio also addressed recent reports about the purported leakage of confidential information between the Senate and the presidency.

He vehemently refuted these accusations and praised Lado for his excellent performance.

“Let me state for the record that there has not been a single leak of private correspondence between the Senate and the Presidency since Senator Lado took over as Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on National Assembly (Senate Matters),” Akpabio said.

“There has never been a leakage issue. That’s what we call the right to know in government. Naturally, national security suffers when government operations are conducted through information leaks on social media and newspaper pages.

Akpabio continued by praising Lado’s role in improving the coordination between the legislative and executive branches and thanking him for enabling easy communication between them.

“Your overall performance in office over the past eight months is unprecedented and is strengthening and rewarding the executive-legislative synergy for the benefit of all,” Akpabio continued.

In his answer, Senator Lado said

appreciation for Akpabio’s leadership, emphasizing how important the Senate President is to the President’s program.
