Tinubu Lacks Team That Understands Nigeria’s Unique Challenges – SDP Chairman”

Shehu Gabam, the national chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has expressed disapproval of President Bola Tinubu’s management style, claiming that the administration is having trouble because it lacks a capable and cohesive team.
Gabam claimed in an interview with Vanguard that the government’s inability to handle the urgent problems facing the nation is being hampered by the lack of a competent team and that governance is not a one-man job.
Instead of depending only on the knowledge of one person, Gabam believes that governance should be founded on the knowledge and experience of the entire group.

“A team is what the president lacks.” Individualism has no place in the government. The monopoly of wisdom and knowledge is not the issue. Hence, the division of labor in government.
“The president requires a team that is aware of Nigeria’s unique characteristics. There is history, an archive, and places where we are making mistakes and places where we are making progress,” Gabam said.

He emphasized that Tinubu’s cabinet would be more receptive to the plight of common Nigerians if it were completely in sync with the situation on the ground.

Gabam blasted the government for failing to recognize the hardships of its people, citing a widely shared event involving a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.

He remarked, “You can imagine the youth corps member whose case turned into controversy if the cabinet is up to date with Nigerian reality and what Nigerians are facing.” On the television, she was sobbing.

It went viral because she can’t afford to buy a crate of eggs. The threat was directed at her. Is that a democracy?… Does our constitution protect that right to free speech? Is she being threatened by our organization, NYSC, and the National Youth Service Corps? Are they aware of the hardships she faces?

In his statement, “Millions of People Are Dying in Silence,” Shehu Gabam also bemoaned the terrible condition of Nigeria’s healthcare system and the fact that many of its inhabitants cannot afford health treatment.

Millions of people are dying without a word. Seek medical attention. Please take some time to visit the hospitals. People are unable to pay their creditors. Illnesses are killing them. No one is paying any attention.

“If you take someone who needs care to the hospital, the procedure for admitting him will cause him to pass away before being admitted,” Gabam said.

According to him, these problems are signs of a more serious governance breakdown that could be avoided if the president had the right people in place to counsel him and carry out policies efficiently.
