BREAKING: Police Order Cancellation of Natasha’s Homecoming

Remember that, despite the state government’s declaration prohibiting political meetings or rallies, Akpoti-Uduaghan has vowed to continue her “homecoming,” claiming that she is merely visiting the state to celebrate Eid Fitr with her constituents.
However, Dantawaye stated that Natasha’s planned rally violates the state government’s proclamation on the ban on political gatherings, which was issued on Monday.
The Commissioner went on to say that intelligence indicates that some hoodlums intend to hijack the process and disrupt the calm in the state.

According to the statement, “Following the intelligence report on security threats in Kogi State and the subsequent ban on all forms of rally and procession by the Kogi State Government, the Nigeria Police Force, Kogi State Police Command has called on the organisers of the planned rally at Okene to cancel such event in the interest of Kogi State’s peace.
“The request for cancellation is important, as intelligence indicates that some hoodlums intend to hijack the process and disrupt calm in the state. The Command cannot afford to compromise the State’s current peace.
“In light of the security threat received regarding the planned protest, the Kogi State Police Command advises the organisers to cancel the event in order to prevent a breakdown in law and order in the state. As the Command will not hesitate to employ the full force of the law against anyone who disturbs the peace and order in the State.”
