Sokoto Eid Celebration Turns Deadly as Bandit Leader Bello Turji Kills 12 for ‘Fun’

Before launching an attack in Fadamar Lugu on Tuesday, when he and his group killed 12 people and injured one, famed bandit leader Bello Turji reportedly threw a lavish Eid party in Magira, which is located in the Isa Local Government Area (LGA) of Sokoto State.
In a post on 𝕏 on Wednesday, security analyst Bakatsine revealed the occurrence, stating that other bandits from Zamfara State attended Turji’s gathering in Magira.
The party then went to Fadamar Lugu after the celebrations, where they viciously attacked defenseless locals.

Bandits from Zamfara State joined bandit chief Bello Turji in Magira, Isa LGA, for an Eid celebration. He went to Fadamar Lugu in Isa LGA, Sokoto State, after the feast, killing 12 people and wounding one for amusement,” Bakatsine wrote.
Numerous violent crimes, like as mass murders, kidnappings, and raids throughout Sokoto and Zamfara States, have been connected to Turji, one of Nigeria’s most wanted criminals.

At the end of the 2025 Ramadan fast, armed criminals from various regions of the nation were captured on camera saying Eid prayers. This is a separate but concerning trend.

On Tuesday, April 1, counter-insurgency specialist Zagazola Makama posted the video on 𝕏, exposing that the armed groups had prayers in two different places in Kaduna State.

It was understood that the prayers were held in the heart of Dogon Dawa Forest in Maidaro, Sabon Birni, and East Kaduna.

According to reports, the thieves were seen in the video clip brandishing advanced weapons like cell phones, drones, and firearms.
