Ex-Lawmaker Elisha Abbo Alleges Senators Run Errands for Akpabio

According to Elisha Abbo, a former senator who served in the Adamawa North Senatorial District, Senate President Godswill Akpabio treats the Red Chambers as his own private business.
Abbo claimed during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time Show that Akpabio has repeatedly threatened to remove MPs who disagree with him.
Abbo claimed that Akpabio has persisted in repressing and intimidating his colleagues in the Upper Chamber, and that the Senate President had a key role in the dismissal of five senatorial district MPs.
He claimed that senators conduct errands, such as serving tea to the Senate President at his home whenever they visit, out of fear of being victimized.

“Are you aware that senators serve tea to Akpabio at his home? I’ll tell you now, though. “You are no longer a governor,” I informed him. These senators are not your commissioners; they are our colleagues. Abbo remarked, “They are not here to serve you tea.”
