Onyeka: Super Eagles Still Have a Chance to Qualify for 2026 World Cup

Despite the Super Eagles’ dismal performance in the qualifiers, Frank Onyeka has maintained that the squad can still earn a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In their six games in the qualification series, the Super Eagles have won one, drawn four, and lost one.

In fourth place in Group C, Éric Chelle’s team is six points behind leaders South Africa.

Onyeka, nevertheless, is hopeful that they can still make a comeback and secure a place to the Mundial.

“Even though we are in a challenging circumstance, we still have a chance. The Augsburg midfielder told Oma Sports, “We just need to win our next four games and hopefully we can qualify.”

When the qualifications start up again in September, Nigeria will play Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
