Gunmen Storm Senator Natasha Akpoti’s Family Residence

In the early hours of Tuesday, April 16, 2025, in the Obeiba-Ihima neighborhood of Okehi Local Government Area, Kogi State, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s family home was reportedly attacked by unidentified thugs brandishing cutlasses and weapons.
At least three armed people were involved in the incident, which happened at around 1:00 a.m., according to intelligence sources. They damaged the building, breaking window glass.
Yakubu Ovanja, the senator’s chief security officer, instantly notified the appropriate security authorities of the occurrence.
Security personnel from the Okehi Division were quickly sent to the scene after receiving a distress call.

Although there have been no confirmed casualties or arrests, security officers have recorded the damage and preliminary investigations are under progress.
Police sources have stated that the motivation for the attack is yet unknown, according to Zagazola Makama.
A well-known politician in the Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, had not yet made a public statement about the incident as of the time of publication.
Authorities are still investigating the attack, trying to identify the perpetrators and ascertain the motivations of the attackers.
