Amid Defection Rumours, Fayemi Attends Ekiti APC Caucus Meeting

On Friday, Kayode Fayemi, the former governor of Ekiti State, was present at the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) Caucus meeting.
The former Solid Minerals Minister’s possible defect to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has been denied by Fayemi’s presence.
The former governor described the meeting as a chance to consider the party’s advancement in a tweet on his X account.
At the home of HE Otunba Niyi Adebayo in Iyin Ekiti, I was there at the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Caucus meeting in Ekiti State. Engaging with our party leaders and important stakeholders, considering our progress, and exchanging ideas on how to improve our effect and unity was a fantastic opportunity, he said.
Fayemi gave Governor Biodun Oyebanji high marks for his efforts in the state. He praised the party members’ solidarity in the state.

He said he was confident the state’s members’ discipline and unity will help the APC accomplish more.
“Grantor Biodun Oyebanji deserves praise for his outstanding work and dedication to our state’s progress. He has our undivided support to continue his outstanding work for the Ekiti community and our party.
It was incredibly encouraging to see the party members’ discipline, togetherness, and common goal. I’m still hopeful about what we can do as a team as we work to realize our shared goal for Ekiti State,” he continued.
According to reports, on March 10, the former governor of Ekiti State denied rumors that he intended to leave the ruling party.
He did, however, state that the party needs to improve its internal democracy.
Regarding my defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC), a tale that has been making the rounds on several internet sites has caught my notice.
My status as a card-carrying foundation member of the APC has not altered, as I have previously had reason to declare.
“Even though I have led the charge to demand more internal democracy and inclusion within the ruling party, I think there is still time for our party to shift its direction and pursue greater internal democracy and inclusion,” he said.
