Mixed Reactions as Obi Cubana Names Biological Son as ‘Next of Kin’ Over Adopted Son

Nigerian socialite and businessman Obinna Oyiegbu, often known as Obi Cubana, has responded to the assertion that his adopted first son, Chidi, is his next of kin.
After posting a video on TikTok claiming to be the billionaire’s next of kin, Chidi stirred up controversy.
“Nothing do my shoulder, I just realize say I be next of kin,” he wrote as the caption for the video.
With the description, “Ancient and modern, eyes on the ball. @dtwalx aka next of kin,” Obi Cubana appeared to be responding when he posted a picture of himself and his biological son Alex on Instagram.
“Using my headphones right now,” Alex remarked in the comments section. “Correct boy, original next-of-kin,” Obi Cubana responded.
Many criticized Obi Cubana for not resolving the matter inside after his article sparked uproar.
“Unnecessary,” one X user @Abazwhyllzz remarked. Instead of coming to post sha, he ought to have instructed the man to remove the content from TikTok and then resolved the issue internally.
“I’m a poor man, so I keep to myself.”
“I don’t think he thought of the consequences in the long run,” commented another user, @Soyecatherings. Sha, this was not the best way to handle it. However, the mere notion of being the next of kin today implies that Obi must be deceased or elderly enough to be incapable of managing affairs.
“A child who was just doing a harmless video, una don reason plenty of things put, na wah for una ooo,” remarked a third user, @Gladys_Onyetem.

Even though Una mentioned an adopted child, I assumed that was his brother’s child.
On this simple video, a don projects a terrible family hostility.

@DemoOfUK, another user, remarked, “Nawa o. They said, “Come chop, you have a long spoon.” Explain the reasoning for your desire to claim Omo Onile for someone else’s territory.
