Jos Market Fire: I Share Your Pain – Governor Mutfwang Assures Traders

Caleb Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau State, has offered consolation to traders at Terminus Market who lost millions of dollars’ worth of merchandise in a fire.
According to reports, the well-known Terminus Market in Jos was destroyed by fire on Tuesday, resulting in the destruction of millions of dollars’ worth of products and buildings.
The origin of the fire is still unknown.

Governor Mutfwang promised his administration will help the traders in a statement released on Wednesday.

He underlined that everyone living there must refrain from doing anything that would jeopardize the state’s unity and tranquility.

“Parts of the popular Jos commercial Terminus market have been destroyed due to a fire outbreak in Jos, the capital of Plateau State,” it stated. I was devastated to learn of the fire outbreak that destroyed portions of the Terminus Market in Jos North on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, resulting in the loss of millions of dollars’ worth of products.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the impacted traders. I feel your anguish, particularly during these challenging economic times. Don’t worry, the government won’t desert you. To lessen the effects of this tragedy, we will act right away.

“I call for composure and alertness. Let’s refrain from taking any acts that can jeopardize our beloved state’s peace and togetherness. Children need to be properly guided by their parents and guardians. Together, let’s show our solidarity. We shall triumph together.
