IPOB to DSS: Simon Ekpa Is Not Our Member, Don’t Link Us

On Monday, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) issued a warning to the Department of State Services (DSS) to cease associating it with Simon Ekpa, the self-declared Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE).
In a statement released by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the group emphasized that Ekpa is not affiliated with IPOB because it has nothing to do with him and his rebellious organization, IPOB-Auto-Pilot.
Attempts by the Nigerian government and DSS to associate its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, with Ekpa are deliberate and false, according to Powerful.
Powerful underlined that Ekpa, who is being prosecuted for terrorism in Finland, does not represent IPOB or Kanu and should not be looked upon as one of their members.
According to the statement, “IPOB, under the supreme leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, hereby issues this urgent statement in response to the latest round of urgent and shameful media propaganda being pushed by the Nigerian Department of State Services (DSS) and their enablers in the compromised press.”
The rehashed and discredited story about a Finnish content producer named Simon Ekpa, who has repeatedly declared in public that he is not an IPOB member, is part of their plot this time.
In spite of this, the DSS is currently making an effort to falsely link him to IPOB and our leader in an effort to mislead the public and divert attention from the illegality and futility of their case against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“I want to be very clear that Simon Ekpa is not an IPOB member. He doesn’t represent IPOB, speak for us, or take any action on our behalf.
It is wicked, dishonest, and deceptive to try to connect him to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu or the IPOB family. This most recent media gimmick is merely the continuation of a well-funded psychological manipulation campaign aimed at preserving the DSS’s crumbling narrative.

After their kangaroo case against our leader failed in court and they were unable to link IPOB to their unlawful and savage military actions in the South-East, they turned to sensationalism and low-level media manipulation.
The shameful poster campaign in Abuja that aims to damage our leader’s reputation is something else we are aware of. These behaviors are indicative of a dictatorship that is avoiding the truth.
They are also a last-ditch effort to divert attention from the overwhelming evidence of the systematic torture, illegal detentions, and human rights breaches done by DSS agents against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, some of which have been caught on camera. The public will soon witness these atrocities.
“Let the world know that IPOB is a legitimate, disciplined, and internationally acclaimed self-determination movement. Our goal is still nonviolent and grounded on international law. This fact cannot be altered by propaganda or recycled lies.
“We implore the Nigerian people and the international community to look past this deliberate disinformation campaign and concentrate on the true concerns—Maji Nnamdi Kanu’s wrongful detention and extraordinary rendition, as well as the Nigerian government’s ongoing disregard for both domestic and international court decisions.
“These juvenile antics should be stopped, and the DSS should get ready to deal with the legal repercussions of their behavior. Justice will be served, and their shame will be documented in history,” Powerful emphasized.
