Amadi to Atiku: Embrace Peter Obi’s Simplicity, Shun Excessive Entitlement

Sam Amadi, a former chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), has counseled Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate, to refrain from behaving like a king.
He encouraged Atiku to follow in the footsteps of Peter Obi, his colleague in the Labour Party (LP).
According to Amadi, Atiku must overcome his excessive “royalty” and act like a typical professional or company executive.
Amadi, the Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, cautioned Atiku against behaving like an Emir, Ooni, or Obi in his remarks via his 𝕏 account, pointing out that Nigeria is neither a “emirate nor a kingdom.”
The former head of NERC asserted that Atiku is not that horrible and that he might be president.
“Atiku could be president,” he stated. He’s not all that horrible. However, excessive “royalty” is one issue he needs to address. He ought to take a cue from @PeterObi.
“Be just as normal as a business leader or professional, not an Obi, Ooni, or Emir. Nigeria is neither a kingdom nor an emirate.
In the meantime, Amadi has said that if Peter Obi, the previous Labour Party presidential candidate, is not included in the opposition coalition, no one will be able to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Amadi’s remarks coincide with rumors that, in advance of the 2027 elections, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has extended an offer to Peter Obi for the position of vice president under a single-term coalition ticket.
Amadi’s comments highlight Obi’s pivotal role in any possible attempt to unseat Tinubu, despite Obi’s insistence that his only goal is to form a coalition to solve problems like hunger, poverty, and the declining quality of healthcare and education in Nigeria.

Amadi, who is also the Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, reaffirmed Tuesday on 𝕏 (previously Twitter) that Peter Obi is essential for anyone wishing to run against Tinubu in 2027.
The reality is that nobody can defeat Tinubu without @PeterObi,” he said. You must determine what this truth implies. This explains why this street is so depressing and violent.
“The circle can be squared with respect and deep good faith,” Amadi continued, underscoring the significance of solidarity and regard for one another in any political partnership.
