BREAKING: FCTA Shuts Down PDP National Secretariat in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has sealed off the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) headquarters in Abuja’s Wuse district.

The building was sealed about 2:05 p.m. on Monday.

The FCTA officials were alleged to have arrived at the scene and directed the security guard to consult with the appropriate authorities.

The FCTA said this week that it will begin taking ownership of 4,794 properties revoked owing to nonpayment of ground rent for durations ranging from 10 to 43 years, beginning Monday, May 26, 2025.

The administration declared that it will take possession of these properties regardless of their ownership status.

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, made the announcement during a news conference in Abuja on Friday, alongside the Director of Land Administration, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, and the Director of the Department of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima.

Recall that on March 19, 2025, the administration revoked the Wadata Plaza, which houses the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) national secretariat and is located in Wuse Zone 5, due to repeated failures to pay ground rent.
