Abuja Explosion: Army Confirms Incident at Mogadishu Cantonment Bus Stop

According to the Nigerian, there was an explosion in the Abuja cantonment of Mogadishu.

The army claimed in a statement posted on its X feed @HQNigerian Army (previously Twitter) that the explosion happened at a bus stop across from the cantonment.

Also, The police leadership in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has confirmed an explosion along the heavily used Mararaba-Nyanya bypass.

According to FCT Police Command Public Relations Officer Josephine Adeh, police from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit responded quickly to the incident, which happened at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Monday. They were sent to the area right away.

“To ensure the safety of commuters and residents, the affected area was quickly cordoned off for clearance and analysis,” she said.

According to Adeh’s statement, a male victim was rescued by the police at the scene and sent right away to the hospital, where he is presently receiving medical care.

“The FCT Police Command received a distress report regarding an explosion along Mararaba-Nyanya bypass on May 26th, 2025 at approximately 2:50 PM,” the statement said.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit officers were dispatched to the location as soon as they received the report. To guarantee the safety of commuters and locals, the impacted area was quickly roped off for clearance and study.

After being quickly sent to the hospital, where he is still undergoing medical treatment, one male victim was saved at the scene.

“A thorough investigation, including in-depth forensic examination, has begun to determine the precise cause and kind of the explosion.
