Nigerian Air Force Bombards Boko Haram Camps in Borno, Eliminates Insurgents

According to the Nigerian Air Force, precision airstrikes against Boko Haram strongholds in Borno State were successfully carried out, resulting in the deaths of multiple terrorists and the destruction of important supply facilities.
The operation, which was conducted as part of Operation HADIN KAI, was conducted on June 5 and 6 in the Southern Tumbuns’ Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia regions. Insurgents have long used these areas for supply storage and tactical coordination.
Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, announced the operation in a statement on Saturday. He claimed the strikes were timed to thwart intended attacks during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations and were based on reliable intelligence.
According to the announcement, “the Nigerian Air Force, under Operation HADIN KAI, decimated key Boko Haram hideouts at Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia in the Southern Tumbuns, Borno State, in a series of precision airstrikes conducted on 5 and 6 June 2025.”

The Air Force claimed that insurgents had been planning attacks to break up the holiday season. Therefore, the goal of the preemptive strikes was to stop these violent acts.
Ejodame continued, “NAF aircraft delivered direct hits and crippled planned attacks aimed at disrupting Eid celebrations, targeting terrorist structures reportedly used for storage and coordination.”
Following the strikes, Battle Damage Assessments (BDA) verified that multiple terrorists had been neutralized and that vital logistical facilities had been destroyed, severely impairing the terrorists’ ability to operate.
“This proactive measure demonstrates the Nigerian Air Force’s dedication to protecting civilian lives and advancing national security goals,” Ejodame stated.
