Pastor Adeboye: God Told Me My Firstborn Would Die If I Leave RCCG

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), claims that God forewarned him not to leave the denomination or risk losing his firstborn child.
Adeboye reportedly revealed this at the June Holy Ghost Service, “Destined for Greatness (Part 2),” which took place on Friday at the Redemption City of God in Ogun State.
Speaking on the subject of spiritual constancy and divine direction, Adeboye voiced alarm over a growing tendency among young Christians who regularly change churches and introduce themselves as newcomers at each new location.

The minister recalled his spiritual path, saying that God had particularly told him to stay in the RCCG even though he had been involved in a number of successful ministries at the time of his rebirth.
He pointed out that the RCCG was not well-known at the time and that its main office was in a small structure in Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

According to Pastor Adeboye, God ordered him to serve under his spiritual mentor, who lacked a formal education, even though he was a university lecturer.

Instead of following trends or personal preferences, he exhorted young believers to seek heavenly guidance and stay where God has placed them.

Adebpye added that he didn’t mean for his message to imply that RCCG is better than other Christian groups.

“There were three major ministries that were making waves and they were very good when I got born again,” he stated. There were various temptations to switch between them. However, God told me, “I brought you here, son.” You’re going to stay here. Your firstborn will pass away on the day you leave this denomination.

“I taught at the university as a lecturer. Not even basic school, let alone secondary, was attended by my father in heaven. However, God indicated that you would remain here.

“Find the place where God wants you to remain and remain there.”

“I don’t mean to imply that we are superior to other denominations.”
