‘Defame Me Again and I’ll Expose You’ – NNPP Chieftain Warns Lamido

Malam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) gubernatorial candidate in Jigawa State’s 2023 general election, has vowed to expose the state’s former governor, Sule Lamido, over allegations made against him in his recently released autobiography.
Lamido’s autobiography, “Being True to Myself,” covers political events in Nigeria from the end of the Second Republic, military intervention, transition arrangements, and the commencement of the Fourth Republic.
In his response to the book, Ringim accused Lamido of twisting facts and misrepresenting his political history during a party rally in Taura Local Government Area on Wednesday.
According to the NNPP chieftain, Lamideo accused former President Goodluck Jonathan of arresting his son, Abdulsalam Abubakar, and Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, among others, for purported injustices against him.
Ringim also disputed Lamido’s assertion that the PDP lost the gubernatorial election in 2015 due to the candidate’s nasty and vindictive personality.

He stated, “In the book, Lamido depicts himself as a trustworthy leader who never harmed anyone during his political career, which is far from the truth.
“Lamido is not being fair to himself or his political partners because some assertions are incorrect and must be addressed.
“He claimed that the PDP failed in the election because all of my political allies abandoned me during the 2015 general election, in which I ran as their gubernatorial candidate.
“To be clear, the former governor is aware of the responsibilities he played in causing the PDP to lose the election despite its strength and acceptance in the state.
“I know everything about you, your political career, and your personal life. If you continue to malign me, I may be forced to divulge information that would expose you to public shame.”
