Breaking: Ex-Senate President David Mark Quits PDP

In a June 27 statement that he signed, Mark reportedly stated that the PDP’s leadership issue was the primary cause of his resignation.
“Recent events, characterized by growing divisions, an ongoing leadership crisis, and irreconcilable differences, have reduced the party to a shadow of its former self, subjecting it to public ridicule,” said Mark, a founding member of the PDP.
The former Senate President resigned after being named as one of the acting leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which is supported by the coalition.

I extend my warmest greetings to you and the PDP members in Otukpo Ward 1, as well as to the entire Benue State and Nigeria, the statement said. I am writing to formally notify you that I have decided to leave the party with immediate effect. As you may remember, I have stayed steadfast and steadfast in my commitment to the PDP’s principles. I vowed to be the last guy standing even after almost all party members left after our defeat in the 2015 presidential election.
Without coming across as immodest, my unwavering efforts to rebuild, unite, and reposition the party have helped the PDP regain its national prominence and become the preferred party of many Nigerians.
But recent developments characterized by widening rifts, an ongoing leadership crisis, and intractable disagreements have diminished the party to a ghost of its former self and exposed it to public mockery.
“I have decided to join the National Coalition of Political Opposition Movement in Nigeria as part of the collective effort to rescue our nation and preserve our hard-earned democracy, following extensive consultations with my family, friends, and political associates.”
