BREAKING: Soldier Allegedly Kills Technician in Adamawa Over Girlfriend’s Phone

Following a tragic occurrence in Mayo-Belwa, Adamawa State, when a teenage phone repair worker was allegedly killed by a Nigerian military over a delayed phone repair, the public is outraged.
After his fiancée complained that her phone had not been mended on time, the soldier, named as Lance Corporal Ahmada A., allegedly attacked and killed the technician, Alkasum Ibrahim, according to witnesses. It was reported that the incident happened on Wednesday.
The soldier’s fiancée had previously brought her malfunctioning phone to Alkasum’s store for repairs, it was learned. However, the repair was postponed for the alleged technical or workload-related reasons. She apparently called her partner, upset by the delay.
Lance Corporal Ahmada is accused of storming the repair shop and violently attacking the technician in a startling sequence of events. According to witnesses, he brutally thrashed Alkasum in front of onlookers. The victim’s injuries caused him to lose consciousness and eventually pass away.
Witness Nuruddeen Abubakar stated, “This is heartbreaking.” The boy was merely attempting to earn a living. The only thing he did wrong was to be late mending a phone.

Adamawa State Police Command spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the event and said the military is investigating internally before turning the issue over to the police for further action.
The deceased’s family, backed by rights activists, is demanding immediate justice and saying that the issue cannot be ignored.
