Fire Outbreak in Zamfara School Kills 17 Almajiri Students

A tragic fire outbreak that overtook an Almajiri school in Kauran Namoda, Zamfara State, on Tuesday night claimed the lives of no fewer than 17 children.
Zagazola Makama, a security expert, was informed by intelligence sources that the fire burned for around three hours before it was eventually contained.
Numerous additional students were hurt to differing degrees and are now being treated at local hospitals.

Witnesses reported that the fire’s intensity was overwhelming and that efforts to contain it were impeded by its quick spread.

It was a horrifying scene. A nearby citizen who helped with the rescue efforts stated, “We tried to rescue as many students as we could, but the fire was too strong.”

When emergency personnel and local officials arrived on the site, serious injuries had already been reported by the time the fire was put out.

MRS Filling Station Near International Airport Explosion Rocks
In other events, a huge explosion on Tuesday caused an MRS filling station close to Yola International Airport in Adamawa State to catch fire.

The explosion happened when a fuel tanker was discharging fuel at the station, with attendants present, and it was reported that multiple injuries are suspected.

As the fire continues to spread throughout the station and surrounding areas, there are restrictions on access to and from the state capital.
