Delta Governor Oborevwori Sends Condolences to Olomu Kingdom Over Ohworode’s Death

Ovie Macaulay Popo Ovbagbedia, JP, Uhurhie-Osadjere II, the Ohworode of Olomu, passed away, and Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori expressed his deepest sorrow to the Olomu Kingdom and the larger Urhobo nation.
The Otota (traditional prime minister) of Olomu, Olorogun Albert Akpomudje, SAN, announced the monarch’s death at a ceremony held on Saturday at the royal palace in the Ovwor-Olomu village, Ughelli South Local Government Area.
His Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, issued a statement in Asaba on Sunday, in which Oborevwori hailed the late king as a peaceful, wise, and proudly cultured person who left a lasting legacy.
In his sympathy message, the governor urged the royal family, the Olomu Traditional Council, and other kingdom citizens to take solace in the great accomplishments and peaceful reign of the late monarch, who succeeded to the throne on May 20, 2023.

Despite his brief reign, Oborevwori recognized that the Ohworode was distinguished by his dignity, humility, and unwavering commitment to the progress and unification of his people.
He prayed that the king would rest in peace and that the kingdom would be able to bear this terrible loss.
