At ninety-one, Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebuland, passed away.
The king reportedly died on Sunday, a few hours after former President Muhammadu Buhari passed away.
Western Post reports that officials from the Ogun State Government and a trustworthy source near Awujale’s Palace in Ijebu-Ode verified the monarch’s passing on Sunday.

Longtime Buhari buddy Oba Adetona, who took the throne in 1960, was one of Nigeria’s longest-reigning traditional leaders and a well-respected voice among Yoruba monarchs and the nation at large.
