Peter Obi Must Notify Authorities Before Visiting Edo — Oshiomhole Defends Okpebholo’s Position

Adams Oshiomhole, the Edo North congressman, has backed Governor Monday Okpebholo’s move to require former presidential candidate Peter Obi to obtain security clearance prior to his visit to Edo State.
According to reports, Okpebholo advised Obi against entering the state without first obtaining security clearance, tying the former presidential candidate’s most recent visit to a security lapse that reportedly claimed three lives.
On Prime Time, an Arise Television program, Oshiomhole discussed his feelings over the governor’s warning on Friday. He said that Obi should have informed Okpebholo before his visit out of self-respect and decency.

He maintained that it is critical to notify authorities when public figures such as Obi intend to visit a state.

Obi is anticipated to visit the institution in question, which is completely sponsored and maintained by the state government, the former governor of Edo noted.

The governor of Edo state is entrusted with the property of the Edo state government, let’s face it. It is a question of decency and self-respect for me and others to notify the authorities if I visit a government-owned facility, such as a nursing home, when I’m in Enugu or Anambra during Obi’s tenure as governor.

My coworker, Peter Obi, and I were closely acquainted. I still like him, but we don’t have the same political views. On some topics, I disagree with his opinions,” Oshiomhole stated.
