Police Kill Eight Bandits in Zamfara During Violent Confrontation

An intense gunfight in Fegin Kanawa village, Wonaka District, Gusau Local Government Area, has resulted in the elimination of eight bandits by Zamfara State security personnel.

A joint squad of police officers and members of the Fegin Mahe village’s Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) responded to intelligence reports of an imminent attack at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Friday, which sparked the altercation.
The criminals set up strategic positions and ambushed the crew as they entered the region, according to Zagazola Makama.

Eight of the attackers were killed when the security guards returned fire with greater vigor, and several others were injured when they ran into surrounding bushes.

42 Police Mobile Force, Gusau Inspector Tasi’u Lawali was shot in the mouth and hand during the encounter.

After being quickly transported to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Gusau, his condition is said to be stable.

Following the incident, police have stepped up bush-combing efforts to find the escaping culprits.
