PDP Crisis: Wike’s Loyalists Suspend Wabara Over Ude-Okoye Support – Source

According to a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) source, Adolphus Wabara, the chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), was suspended in part because the BoT approved Sunday Ude-Okoye as the party secretary.
Wabara was reportedly suspended on Tuesday by opposition members who were thought to be supporters of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
However, the BoT chairman was suspended for allegedly supporting Abia State Governor Alex Otti, according to a statement made on Tuesday by Abraham Amah, the chairman of the Abia PDP.

According to a source who spoke to Punch, Wabara’s purported support for Otti’s reelection was the reason he had not been sanctioned since 2023.

Wabara allegedly supported Otti’s 2027 bid for governor and engaged in anti-party activities in 2023, according to the source, but he maintained that there was more to the story.

“But there’s more to the story – if that was the case, why wait until now?” the source said.

“I think Wabara’s support for justice is the true cause for his suspension, and the BoT, his group, proclaimed Ude-Okoye to be the PDP’s official secretary. I think this is being done by Wike’s Anyanwu-supporting followers.

Anyanwu’s friend, Timothy Osadolor, the PDP National Deputy Youth Leader, supported the suspension of the BoT chair, claiming that it was well known that Wabara had endorsed Otti’s reelection.

“Wabara engaged in anti-party activities, which is known,” Osafolor stated in an interview with the aforementioned publication. For the 2027 elections, he stated his support for Otti, a Labour Party member. That is anti-party, and I believe that individuals such as him ought to answer before the Ikimi-led panel for their deeds.
