Tragic Incident in Kano as Trailer Overturns on Muhammadu Buhari Bridge

The well-known Muhammadu Buhari Bridge in Kano had a terrible tragedy on Thursday that left several people dead and injured.
The collision, involving a trailer traveling to the southern region of the nation, sent commuters and locals into a frenzy.
A social media user named Yahya Abubakar Sadiq posted about the incident on his page, claiming that the trailer flipped over while transporting both persons and cargo.
“A truck (Tarela) carrying both people and goods has overturned at Hotoro NNPC, beneath the bridge from Mariri to Unguwa Uku. He added, “There were at least twenty people involved; some of them died and others were seriously injured.”
The trailer lost control while traversing the underpass tunnel, according to Shu’aibu Hamisu, another eyewitness who talked to Daily Trust and detailed the terrifying scenario.
The trailer managed to get inside the underpass. Many people died immediately, but others were saved,” he said.

Similar accidents have reportedly happened at the same location several times in the last 12 months.
Local business owners in the area claim that these collisions frequently include trailers carrying people, food, and animals from the north to the south of the nation.
According to one shop owner who talked to Daily Trrust, “usually, these accidents happen when drivers try to speed through the underpass and underestimate the vulnerability of their vehicles under the bridge.”
