NiDCOM Chair Praises CBN Governor for Launching Accounts to Boost Diaspora Engagement

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, has been praised by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), for launching the Non-Resident Nigerian Ordinary Account (NRNOA) and the Non-Resident Nigerian Investment Account (NRNIA).
The action is a deliberate effort to improve diaspora engagement and support Nigeria’s economic progress, according to a statement issued by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Head of the Commission for Media, Public Relations, and Protocols.
The head of NiDCOM, who encouraged Nigerians living abroad to take advantage of these new financial packages, emphasized the importance of diaspora remittances, pointing out that they are Nigeria’s largest source of foreign money, surpassing even oil earnings.
“Nigerians, home and abroad, must join hands to develop Nigeria, as no foreigner will do this for us,” Dabiri-Erewa said, emphasizing the value of strategic interaction with the diaspora community.
