Abuja Erupts in Protest as Youths Demand Release of VeryDarkMan

On Monday, several young people marched through Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, to protest the arrest and detention of Martins Vincent Otse, commonly known as Verydarkman (VDM), a social media figure and prominent human rights campaigner.
The teenagers, armed with placards, asked that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) free VeryDarkMan immediately.
It was alleged that the demonstrators were observed in the Wuse area, just after the Berger bridge, and that VDM’s arrest and imprisonment were illegal.
