Actress Mercy Johnson Responds to Cancer Rumor, Denies Diagnosis

Mercy Johnson-Okojie, a Nollywood actress, has denied rumors that she had cancer and required thyroid surgery.
On Monday, there were rumors that the actress had talked about her fight with thyroid cancer, which resulted in surgery to remove her thyroid.
According to reports from multiple news outlets, the well-known actress was cited as stating that she had a cancer scare and had surgery to remove her thyroid during a chat with seasoned actress Joke Silva.
Mercy, however, disputed reports that she ever had cancer in a video that she shared on social media on Tuesday.
She said in the one-minute, seven-second video clip that she had a cancer scare because of thyroid swelling, and she emphasized that the footage of her interview with her senior colleague was chopped, and as a result, she acknowledged to having cancer.

“Hey everyone, First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has called and sent prayers,” she stated.
