Police Recover 54 Stolen Livestock, Arrest Suspect in Yobe

According to the Yobe State Police Command, its agents have found livestock that was allegedly stolen from border communities.

According to a statement sent by the command through SP Dungus Abdulkarim, its spokeswoman, the animals that were rustled included one donkey, two goats, four rams, and forty-seven sheep.

During a police patrol in Babbangida, Tarmuwa LGA, on December 5, 2024, Ibrahim Umaru, 38, of Jammel Village, Jacusko LGA, was apprehended in possession of the stolen animals.

He clarified, “The animals were allegedly stolen from the Nigeria-Chad border area by the suspect.”

The PPRO for the Command urged owners to come to the Tarmuwa Divisional Police Headquarters with valid proof of ownership so that they can be picked up right away.

“The suspect has been found guilty after being arraigned in court,” he stated.

Through the spokesperson, State Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Ado urged the people to report missing objects to the closest police station so that officers can conduct a prompt search and potentially retrieve the things.
