Akpabio Reacts to Allegations of Plotting with Yahaya Bello Against Natasha

The accusations made by suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan at her Sallah Homecoming rally in Okehi, Kogi State, have been denied by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
During the protest on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Natasha reportedly said that Akpabio had conspired to kill her alongside Kogi Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his predecessor, Yahaya Bello.
“Akpabio spoke to Governor Ododo on March 12th to recall me,” she stated. However, he informed him that it would be impossible because the public and the masses support her.

However, Akpabio wasn’t content. He then dispatched Yahaya Bello, who was picked up by Senator Asuquo and taken to the meeting location. I was told everything. And the meeting was split in two when they reached him. They instructed him to start my recall and promised to provide the funding. Money was exchanged that evening, of course. He advised him to try to kill me as his second piece of advice. I wrote to the police, but I didn’t make this public. He advised him to ensure that there would be no murder of me in Abuja. It ought to be carried out here (Okehi) to make it appear as though I was murdered here. We did inform the security services of that, but I didn’t make it public.

In an interview with The Nation, Eseme Eyiboh, the Senate President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, responded that Akpabio would not be sidetracked by Natasha’s accusations.

Senator Natasha has the burden of substantiating her claims, according to Akpabio’s assistant.

“My response is simply that whoever makes the allegation has to prove it,” he stated. That’s easy. In law, that is trite. The rule of law is that the person making the allegation must provide evidence.

However, for the time being, the SP is diligently collaborating with his fellow senators to work together and synergize with the government to offer Nigeria new hope.

“I’m stating that the SP won’t decrease and start to become sidetracked. In order to give Nigeria renewed hope, he is currently focusing on working with his fellow senators to form a positive partnership with the executive and other branches of government.
