Anioma Declares Readiness For Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos President 2026-Apst. Patrick A. Nwanze
By Chuks Nwoko
The leadership of the Apex Association of Anioma Indigenes Inc., an affiliate of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, hereby addresses the esteemed stakeholders of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos Chapter, including the respected Current President-General, Presidents of all Igbo-speaking states and communities, leaders of thought, elders, women, youths, and all lovers of justice, equity, and truth.
This was disclosed in a press statement issued and signed by Apst. Patrick A. Nwanze (Agu Anioma) President-General, Apex Association of Anioma Indigenes Inc. Affiliate of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide on the 29th of November, 2025.
He went further to say that at this defining moment in our collective history, we reaffirm the foundational principles that have guided Ohanaeze Ndigbo across generations: equity, rotational leadership, inclusion, mutual respect, and unity.
These principles were clearly upheld and articulated by past and present President-Generals, notably the late Ambassador Prof. George Obiozor, who maintained that the Lagos State President’s office must rotate among all constituent states of Ohanaeze.
Why Anioma People In Lagos Must Unite – Ikemefuna Philip Chinedu
Also, with this established rotational understanding, the turn for 2026 unequivocally belongs to Delta State (Anioma). This is not a matter of debate or negotiation. It is the natural expression of justice, fairness, and the integrity of our collective agreements.
In line with this mandate, Anioma will present a seasoned, administratively balanced, competent, and thoroughly tested candidate, a leader capable of carrying the confidence of the entire Igbo community in Lagos and strengthening the bond that unites us as one people.
Furthermore, in keeping with the established rotational cycle, leadership will naturally move to Rivers State after Anioma, ensuring that the circle of justice remains unbroken and that no state is perpetually sidelined.

It must be emphasized that the peace and stability enjoyed at the national level of Ohanaeze today stem directly from the respect for rotational equity. Without this balance, states such as Delta and Rivers may never have had the opportunity to produce a President-General or Secretary-General due to the overwhelming influence of two dominant states. Equity remains the pillar that sustains our unity.
Additionally, stakeholders must recall that the Constitution was recently stepped down during the National Headquarters General Assembly in the last President-General election, for obvious reasons related to fairness and balance.
Here in Lagos Chapter, we have suffered the torment of factions because bylaws and guidelines were manipulated, violating the principle that no Ohanaeze Ndigbo member should use the police or the courts to address internal matters. The outcome is the unfortunate emergence of a “Consent Judgment President”, a situation that should concern all who genuinely desire unity, progress, and order
This serves as a clear reminder to those citing a Lagos Chapter bylaw claiming “no rotation”: You cannot selectively enforce guidelines while ignoring the foundational principles and the spirit of justice upon which Ohanaeze stands.
We therefore call on all stakeholders, elders, state presidents, community leaders, youth organizations, women groups, and all advocates of truth and fairness, to stand firmly in defense of our shared principles.
Let us honor our covenant.
Let us preserve our unity.
Let us uphold justice.
Let fairness prevail without compromise.
Anioma’s time has come, and history will record where each of us stood at this critical moment of truth.
