APC Forum Responds to Protest Over Tinubu’s NCDC Nominee

The demonstrations against President Bola Tinubu’s selection of Cyril Tsenyil as the Managing Director of the recently established North Central Development Commission (NCDC) have been dismissed by the North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum.
Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, the chairman of the APC Forum, said Thursday that those planning the demonstrations against Tsenyil’s appointment are opposition-funded imposters who aim to discredit the North Central Development Commission and obstruct its objective of fostering rapid development in the North-Central area.
According to information obtained, a group of Plateau State citizens known as the Concerned Plateau Youth Forum urged President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday to immediately withdraw Tsenyil’s nomination, claiming that the appointment does not serve the interests of the Plateau State people as a whole.
The organization declared plans to hold demonstrations in Abuja to call for Tsenyil’s nomination as MD of the North Central Development Commission to be withdrawn in a statement signed by Danladi Pam. In response, the North-Central APC Forum described the Concerned Plateau Youth Forum and Danladi Pam as nameless organizations that are controlled by opposition politicians who are unhappy with the accomplishments of the APC government under President Bola Tinubu.
The Forum also denounced the group’s statement as an effort to exert pressure on President Tinubu.
The purported conspiracy’s perpetrators were advised by the APC Forum to change their ways in order to prevent being seen as enemies of the North-Central area.
We boldly assert that these individuals are neither native to the North-Central region nor inhabitants of the Plateau. No sensible North-Central resident would wish to obstruct the rapid development that the North-Central Development Commission is undoubtedly bringing to the area, particularly with the appointment of a tried-and-true technocrat such as Mr. Cyril Tsenyil as Managing Director.
“We don’t know the aforementioned Danladi Pam and his group. We think the faceless people are only instruments in the hands of the adversary, even when we challenge them to reveal their identities.
We disassociate ourselves from these anonymous people as legitimate North-Central stakeholders. They and their backers are neither our members, nor are they interested parties in the joint effort to advance and develop the North-Central area.
Zazzaga, an APC campaign council member for the 2023 election, signed the statement, which said, “We urge the well-meaning people of the region to ignore the attempts being made by these entities to cause confusion and sabotage the mandate of the North-Central Development Commission.”
The nominee works for Tinubu as an APC member.
Cyril Tsenyil’s nomination as the North-Central Development Commission’s managing director was deemed well-deserved by the APC Forum.
Along with his illustrious career as a professional accountant, the Forum observed that Tsenyil has shown steadfast loyalty and dedication to the APC by carrying out a number of duties and responsibilities that have greatly aided in the growth and accomplishments of the party.
Mr. Cyril Tsenyil is an APC member who possesses a card. He has contributed to the success of President Bola Tinubu’s government, and we fully trust him to fulfill the North-Central Development Commission’s mandate.
Since several of our members have worked with him on various committees and can vouch for his abilities, we are aware of his capacity.

As interested parties who campaigned for the establishment of the North-Central Development Commission, we would like to state unequivocally that we support Mr. President’s selection of Cyril Tsenyil.
We urge the North-Central community to provide him with all the assistance he requires to complete this crucial task. “We call on the people of the region to pray and work for its success,” the statement continued. “This is a new commission that came as an answered prayer for the North-Central after an initial delay.”
The APC Forum applauded Tinubu for designating Tsenyil as the Commission’s Managing Director, claiming that with Tsenyil spearheading the organization’s mission, the North-Central region is well-positioned to meet its pledge to cast six million votes for Tinubu in the 2027 election.
According to reports, on May 8, 2025, President Bola Tinubu formally presented his candidates to the Senate for the positions of South West, North Central, and South-South development commission leaders.
Cyril Tsenyil was recommended as Managing Director and Cosmos Akiyir as Chairman among the 19 nominees submitted for the North Central Development Commission.
In order to address developmental challenges in the North-Central area of Nigeria, Tinubu passed legislation on February 4, 2025, creating the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC).
