APC Is Easier to Disrupt Than Our Alliance – Datti Talks 2027 Strategy

In the run-up to the 2027 presidential election, Datti Baba-Ahmed, the previous Labour Party (LP) vice presidential candidate, has denied rumors of a falling out between him and Peter Obi, stating that their connection is still solid.

Although there are persistent rumors of political rifts between him and Obi, Datti clarified in a popular video clip on X that they remain united.

“If a crack exists, then there isn’t a crack,” you’re saying. And there will never be a crack, by the grace of God Almighty. The head of the APC may be broken more easily than the rift between us, he remarked.

In his remarks, Datti also reaffirmed his commitment to the Labour Party, which provided him with a chance in 2023.

He declared unequivocally that, as a devoted follower of a party that has accomplished something no other party in Nigerian politics has, this one should not be left behind.

Datti expressed disassociation from the current ADC coalition negotiations on the subject of political coalitions.

He added that he and Obi did not leave the Labour Party just because they had attended some of the sessions.

“Political parties are not coalitions. He said, “As far as I know, Obi and I are still members of the Labour Party.”

He made it clear in the video that his goal is more unity than ambition and that he is trying to bring the Labour Party together.

“I want everyone to be made whole. A faithful and unambitious member does this, and that’s what I’m doing,” he continued.

His comments followed his meeting with Julius Abure, the national chairman of the LP, and indicated that their friendship had been repaired.

Datti has stated his ambition to run for president under the party in 2027, Abure further affirmed.
