The nomination of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has been characterized as President Bola Tinubu’s biggest error by Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to reports, Kingibe mentioned this in an interview with ARISE Television.
Despite being an opposition member, the Labour Party (LP) lawmaker criticized President Tinubu for giving Wike such political prominence, saying, “It is my personal opinion that that is rather unfortunate, because if I were making a list of all the things that President Tinubu has done wrong, the greatest wrong he has done to himself, the thing that has demarcated him the most has been on Minister Wike.”
In response to Wike’s alleged popularity in recent surveys, she stated, “If, in fact, Minister Wike is as popular as Depending on the poll’s conductor and methodology, you’re referring to that particular survey. Local government elections come in a few months, and I’m not criticizing it.

“When it comes to any kind of election, can he tell the people, go and do this, and they do it?” she went on. If he is unable to, then all ministers have been doing is blustering, continuing, and making noise.
The minister was also accused by Kingibe of reusing land intended for a public hospital. There is land set aside for a general hospital in Bwari. After Minister Wike revokes it, he plans to build a market, mall, or other structure on it. Over ground rent, Minister Wike has been harassing embassies and the entire FCT.
In reference to the documents she said demonstrated Wike’s abuse of power, Kingibe continued, “Oh, I’m going to take those documents and go to the body, the equivalent of his state assembly, and insist that that assembly, the president from whom Wike derives his powers, goes back to the National Assembly for approval for everything.”
“Wike, who receives authority from him, only represents the budget at the National Assembly. How has he handled all of his IGR, TSA? He has never provided an explanation.
