Auxano Solar Secures International IEC Certification Backed by All On and GEAPP

With the famous IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 certifications for its photovoltaic (PV) modules, Auxano Solar, one of Nigeria’s top solar panel assemblers, has achieved a major milestone in its clean energy path.

These certifications attest to the fact that Auxano’s solar panels satisfy strict international criteria for durability, performance, and safety. They were granted by TÜV Rheinland, a testing and certification organization that is widely recognized.

Through collaboration with the All On Hub, the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) provided venture-building support that enabled the certification process.

Auxano was able to successfully complete the challenging certification procedure, bolster its operational and technical capabilities, and further its goal of providing dependable, high-quality solar solutions thanks to this assistance.

“Auxano Solar’s certification is a potent example of how local innovation can meet international standards and significantly support national development endeavors when given the proper resources,” stated Caroline Eboumbou, CEO of All On.

“We are honored to have collaborated with GEAPP to assist Auxano on this journey, which not only enhances the foundation for a more equitable and sustainable energy future in Nigeria but also validates the caliber of solar technology produced in Nigeria.”

Nigeria’s renewable energy industry is at a turning point, according to Eboumbou, as the accomplishment confirms the competitiveness and quality of locally produced solar technology.

“With this certification, Auxano Solar establishes confidence in Nigeria’s clean energy capabilities and opens the door to utility-scale projects and export opportunities as the first Nigerian solar panel assembler to meet these international standards.”

Speaking on the accomplishment, Chuks Umezulora, CEO of Auxano Solar, expressed pride in the company’s advancement and its implications for the energy industry as a whole.

Being the first domestic producer to have its solar panels certified by TÜV, Auxano Solar is proud of this accomplishment. An important step toward fostering confidence in Nigerian locally made panels has been taken with this certification. Our goal is for Nigerian solar panels to be valued on par with Nigerian wires.

He stated, “We are committed to quality and innovation in the solar energy sector, as evidenced by our achievement of the IEC certifications.”

“This achievement will help us expand our market reach and support the growth of the local solar energy value chain, which will increase the affordability and accessibility of solar power for Nigerians.”

Auxano Solar is also well-positioned to support high-impact energy access projects like the Distributed Access via Renewable Energy Scale-up (DARES) program and the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) thanks to the accreditation.

The World Bank, the African Development Bank (AfDB), GEAPP, the Rockefeller Foundation, and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) are supporting these efforts, which have as their goal electrifying 300 million people in Africa by 2030.

Auxano Solar has installed around 15 megawatts of solar panels in Nigeria since it started operating in 2016. The company has a 100 megawatt solar panel assembly plant in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State, which puts it in a strong position to help Nigeria move toward a clean, resilient, and self-sufficient energy future.
