BREAKING: Fubara Says Tinubu Is Right on Declaring Emergency Rule in Rivers

Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers, has urged Rivers residents and Nigerians to applaud President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his prompt action in declaring an emergency to save the state from impending chaos brought on by the brewing political crisis.

Additionally, Fubara said that the process of peace and reconciliation needed to restore all of the state’s legislative and executive offices and institutions was already under way.

Fubara promised that the state would soon reestablish democracy and good government, with both branches cooperating for the benefit of the populace.
As part of events to commemorate his two years in office, the Governor spoke Thursday at a meeting with Simplified Movement leaders and stakeholders in Port Harcourt, according to a statement sent by Fubara’s chief press secretary, Nelson Chukwudi.

“I want to assure you that the issues will be resolved soon and that you will return to your offices, both at the Legislative and Executive arms,” he added. Additionally, I think that the solid bonds we once shared will resurface, and we will start cooperating once more for the benefit and advancement of the State. What matters is that we have a spirit of forgiveness.
Fubara called on his followers and the people of Rivers as a whole to express their sincere gratitude to Mr. President for his audacious move to end the State’s deteriorating political situation.

To allow the state to proceed, he urged them to fully commit to the peace process.

“We are already in the peace process,” he declared. I want to express my gratitude to the President for his prompt action in reversing the crisis and stabilizing the State and the political system. Today’s narrative would have been different if it weren’t for Mr. President.

In actuality, he behaved wisely at the appropriate moment, albeit I’m not sure how he obtains his information. The person you should thank is him. Additionally, I would like to express my gratitude to him directly for his action as well as to the national celebrities that moved in and urged him to do so.

We must lower ourselves from our lofty echelons and submit to the peace process. And we’re doing just that. What matters is that the State takes action. The interests of the State come first; it is not about you.

He pointed out that if not for the political circumstances brought on by the crisis, the second year’s festivities would have served to highlight some of the significant achievements made by the administration in a number of state-wide sectors.

Fubara promised that the government would return stronger, more cohesive, and better equipped to provide the people with high-quality democratic dividends.

He clarified that people had the right to air their resentment and concerns, but he also said that everyone should embrace peace, seek forgiveness, and promote reconciliation for the sake of the state’s growth and advancement.

Fubara emphasized that his actions were motivated by a desire to preserve the peace and advance the State, and he begged anyone who might have been let down by his handling of the issue to forgive him.

In addition to promising reconciliation with Chief Nyesom Wike, the former governor and minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as soon as possible, he thanked the president for the fatherly actions he had done to bring peace, stability, and good governance back to the state.

He said that there had been a number of reconciliation sessions since the President’s intervention, some of which had taken place at the FCT minister’s home.

Regarding the Federal Capital Territory Minister and his predecessor, Chief Nyesom Wike, he stated: “There is no reason why there will not be peace between me and my Oga.” He went on to say, “There will be peace.” We’re getting together. We’ll make amends.

Fubara pledged to uphold the dignity of the State’s citizens, who gave him the mandate, and expressed gratitude to them for their sacrifices and for giving him the chance to serve.

“Respect is one of the most important things in life. I don’t want to impose my respect on people; I want to earn it. “I completely agree with you,” he said.

He acknowledged the devotion and prayers of the people of Rivers and all Nigerians who supported him during the time of political unrest.
