Breaking: NECO BECE 2025 Results Released, Re-sit Date Disclosed

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the publication of the results for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
According to the Council, 179,201 students enrolled for the junior secondary school exit test, which was held from May 12 to May 23, covering 12 disciplines at various locations across the nation.
According to a statement made Wednesday, Azeez Sani, NECO’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, stated that the publication followed the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting held at NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
Sani stated that the Council has completed all steps necessary for the results’ dissemination, including certification by internal and external education stakeholders.

“The successful conclusion of the BECE Award Committee Meeting paved the way for the release of the results,” Sani told me.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Folake Olatunji-David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, who expressed satisfaction with the exam’s conduct and outcome.
“We are pleased with the transparent process that led to the approval and release of the results,” she told me.
The group, which included NECO executives and chosen secondary school administrators from across Nigeria, also discussed performance trends and examination logistics during the meeting.
Re-sit scheduled for July 23 and 24.
Meanwhile, the Award Committee has approved the date and timeline for the 2025 BECE re-sit test, which is intended for applicants who did not pass Mathematics and English Studies.
The resit is slated for July 23 and 24, 2025.
NECO asked schools, parents, and candidates to take notice of the dates and plan accordingly.
