BREAKING: Protests Erupt in Jos Over Plateau Killings

Plateau State’s capital, Jos, saw protests Monday morning in response to the continued bloodshed against locals by gunmen thought to be Fulani militants.
Christian leaders, including Rev. Polycarp Lubo, the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), led the protests, which started at the Fawvwei Junction community road and caused heavy traffic, leaving many commuters stuck, according to reports.
More than 100 people have been killed in Bokkos and Bassa LGAs in the past two weeks, and this most recent protest comes amid a rise in violent incidents in a number of towns.

“The frequent shootings and assaults in our neighborhoods are upsetting us. Gyang Dalyop, one of the demonstrators, stated, “That is the reason we have returned to protest these events.”
The PUNCH reports that Hannatu Philip, another protester, called on the government to intervene before things worsen.
As they marched in the direction of the Rayfield Government House, the protesters were seen carrying placards with a variety of themes.
