Breaking: Saraki Leads PDP Reconciliation Talks in Enugu Amid Rising Tensions

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Reconciliation Committee members and former Senate President Bukola Saraki are currently meeting behind closed doors with Peter Mbah, the governor of Enugu State, in an attempt to reposition the party in anticipation of upcoming difficulties.
In a social media post, Saraki acknowledged the development and disclosed that he is having important conversations about the party’s future with Governor Mbah and important PDP Strategy Committee members.
In addition to Senators Seriake Dickson and Ibrahim Dankwambo, who are both members of the PDP Strategy and Way Forward Committee, Saraki said, “I am currently in Enugu State with His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah.”

“As we strive to reposition our party for the future it deserves, we’re here to have the necessary conversations—frank, focused, and long overdue,” he continued, highlighting the significance of these discussions.
Following assertions by Dave Umahi that all South-East governors, including Mbah, were siding with President Bola Tinubu and would shortly support his 2027 reelection campaign, the meeting was held.
With the visit to Enugu, Saraki joins former Governors Seriake Dickson and Ibrahim Dankwambo, demonstrating the PDP’s resolve to hold onto power in the vital South-East. The PDP is dealing with both external and internal difficulties as the 2027 elections approach.
