Vinicius Junior’s High Wage Demands Stall Real Madrid Contract Talks

Vinicius Junior, a Brazilian winger, is aggressively trying to improve the conditions of his contract renewal with Real Madrid, a Spanish powerhouse.
According to reports, Vinicius is using talks of a possible Saudi Arabian bid as part of his plan. But according to reports, there isn’t a formal offer.
The Brazilian attacker was previously close to signing a contract to prolong his stay at the Bernabeu and is regarded as one of Real Madrid’s most exceptional players.

Vinicius is currently one of the organization’s highest paid players and has a contract with the team through 2027, but the details of a new agreement are still being worked out.

These talks take place during a difficult season for Real Madrid, who could end up without any hardware at the end of the season after their recent El Clásico loss, with Barcelona most likely to win the championship.
Vinicius was reportedly offered a lucrative five-year deal worth £830 million to play in Saudi Arabia, which also included serving as an ambassador for the 2034 World Cup.

But according to Marca, the player is still awaiting the completion of his contract extension and does not currently have a firm offer from Saudi Arabia to strengthen his negotiation position with Real Madrid.

The Spanish publication claims that there is a difference between what Real Madrid expects and the pay raise Vinicius is requesting, which would raise his yearly income from less than €17 million to over €30 million.

Signed in 2022, his current contract puts him in line with other high-paid players like Kylian Mbappe, who joined the team last summer. Jude Bellingham, on the other hand, has been given better terms following his successful 2023–2024 season debut.

According to reports, Vinicius’ Roc Nation Brazil agents have prioritized their talks with Saudi Pro League clubs in an effort to move the negotiations along, which is viewed as aggressive. However, no firm competitor offer is known to exist.

Despite a slight slump in form this season, Vinicius is still hopeful about prolonging his stay at the Bernabeu. Nonetheless, there have been signs that the club’s leadership is worried about his behavior.

Only a year after he came very close to winning the Ballon d’Or, there seem to be supporters within the club who might be open to him moving to the Gulf state if a Saudi offer does materialize.

Before head coach Xabi Alonso is appointed, Vinicius has stated his optimism that an agreement would be reached.

In February, he added, “I have a contract until 2027, but I have always said that I want to play here for a long time, to be able to make history and to receive the affection of the fans along with the president, all the players, and the coaching staff.

“Hopefully, the negotiations will be concluded quickly so I can remain here for a lot longer.”
