Chaos in Rivers: Cultists Kill 19 in Fresh Attack

After 19 persons were killed in a rekindled cult conflict on Sunday, residents of Obelle Community in Rivers State’s Emohua Local Government Area have fled their houses for safety.
Unknown shooters thought to be part of a cult organization killed seven individuals in an invasion of the town a few days before to the cult clash, according to information obtained.
After more than two years of respite, the two local cult groups returned to their struggle for dominance on Sunday morning, while the town was still in shock over the incident.
It was learned that the Deybam and Icelanders cult organizations were engaged in a dominance war on Sunday.
Punch claims that following the Wednesday murder, the group whose members were killed on Sunday broke into the Obelle neighborhood and began targeting family members of individuals thought to be affiliated with the cult that had previously murdered seven people.
A local citizen named Kingsley claimed in an interview with the aforementioned website that the competitors arrived while the gang that lost its members on Wednesday was still in operation.
Cultists clashed in our town on Sunday, Kingsley claimed. There have been numerous fatalities. People who were innocent were killed. People began to leave the town because the gunfire was too much. There have been roughly 19 fatalities.
Some cultists emerged and began firing on Sunday morning. They were assaulting family members of those they claimed were part of the gang that murdered their members. The other group emerged without any delay. They began shooting themselves. Both groups also lost members.
“We are requesting assistance from the government. The goal of these cults is to disperse the members of our community. We want the army and police to support us.

Grace Iringe-Koko, the state police command spokesperson, confirmed the tragedy and stated that levies from an oil company in the area were the reason for the altercation. She also stated that ten people were killed.
“It is a cult conflict between Carol and Naked Wire supporters,” she stated. They are battling for control of levies from a local oil company employee.
