Muhammadu Dallatu, a close companion of Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano, revealed why the monarch was unable to attend the late President Muhammadu Buhari’s funeral.
Remember how Buhari passed away in a London hospital on Sunday at the age of 82? On Tuesday, he was buried at his Daura, Katsina State, estate.
The emir is now on an official assignment in the United Kingdom and is anticipated to return to Nigeria on Wednesday (today), Dallatu told Punch.

“The Emir will not attend,” he said. He isn’t even in the nation. He is anticipated to return on Wednesday after traveling to London for an important engagement.

Further research by the previously stated source showed that Emir Sanusi participated in the 2025 Access Bank Polo Tournament on Saturday in Surrey, England, where he was spotted with well-known international personalities, such as Thomas Tuchel, manager of England’s national football team.

Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano, on the other hand, went to the late former President’s state funeral in Daura on Tuesday morning.

Abubakar Naisa, a spokesman for Bayero, verified the news and stated that Jigawa State traditional leaders were with the Emir.
