No Room for Trial and Error in 2027 – Ogun PDP Chairman Warns Aspirants

Abayomi Tella, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, has urged party members vying for office to strengthen their ties with voters and engage in grassroots activism, claiming the opposition party cannot afford to use a “try and error tactic” in 2027.

According to Tella, they would lose the election and their popularity if they were unable to establish rapport and trust.

Tella spoke on Monday at a program hosted by Toyin Amuzu, the PDP’s candidate for the 2023 election in the Abeokuta South federal district.
The chairman urged everyone to get along with each other and tell everyone about the party in every corner of the state.

“To all of our prospective candidates, you won’t be able to get close to the electorate until roughly six months before the election.

“You lost elections and lost your popularity because of this. Since the election is still a long way off, build relationships with the public. Money isn’t everything, so get close to the grassroots and get things done.

“I want to implore everyone to use this platform to bring our party together.

“We can’t afford to make the same mistakes over and over again; whatever you call strength is in unity.” Yes, 2027 is our year, but we also have some obligations,” he stated.

“Well, I’m sure by now everyone would have a job if we have a lot of representatives, senators, and governors empowering people within their four years tenure,” Amuzu stated.
